Christmas Crafts

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Mostly because it's the celebration of our savior's birth, but also because I get to be extra creative.

Here's a picture of our Christmas tree. It's been fun looking for my favorite vintage pink ornaments.







I saw some holiday signs and thought it would be fun to try some of my own for Christmas. It's always fun to find something you like and make it into your own creation.

A Lot To Be Thankful For

This month just flew by. I'm noticing that is the pace of my life. We had a typical Thanksgiving with family, fabulous food(as always thanks to mom) and of course karaoke! My pumpkin gooey cake was a hit! Even my little brother Brian asked for the recipe.



Cake:
1 (18 1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 egg
8 tablespoons butter, melted
Filling:
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

To make the filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter, and beat together. Next, add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix well. Spread pumpkin mixture over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as the center should be a little gooey.

Serve with fresh whipped cream.



It was an extra special Thanksgiving having my oldest brother Martin here with his two cute kids. The only one missing was my sister Alisha. Baysia loved having Kirsten to play with! She is so cute with her! We had a fun day at the zoo together. We just wish they were closer.





It was also the first time my mom had her 5 grandchildren all together. We truly do have so much to be thankful for! On the top of our list is our health. We have been reminded of this as my cousin Adam's cancer came back in October. If you get a chance here is his site http://web.mac.com/alissaingersoll. We just love these cousins so much! His struggle and fight is an inspiration to us all. He faces his trials with pure faith. I think if you have true faith you can conquer anything! He just did a bone marrow transplant and his cancer is in remission! We sure love him and are praying for him everyday!
